ALC customers are reminded of the upcoming 15 Yearly DRUPS Maintenance starting from next month i.e. July 2026 as per the original ASX Online notification published on 5th of May 2026.

ALC Customers are advised that ASX will be undertaking the scheduled 15-year major maintenance program on the Diesel Rotary Uninterruptible Power Supply (DRUPS) systems at the Australian Liquidity Centre (ALC). Due to the scale of the maintenance, work will be performed on one DRUPS unit at a time and completed across two separate weekends per DRUPS (mechanical and electrical scopes).

All works will be performed outside of standard business hours where possible.

Power Configuration and Customer Impact

Each customer cabinet at ALC is supplied by two independent power rails, fed from separate Power Distribution Units (PDUs).

These PDUs are supplied by two of the three DRUPS systems (A, B, or C), resulting in cabinet designs of A-B, B-C, or A-C.

During the maintenance window for a nominated DRUPS:

  • The power rail supplied by the DRUPS under maintenance will operate on utility mains power only
  • That power rail will not have DRUPS backup for the duration of the maintenance window
  • The alternate power rail will remain fully protected and continue to operate normally with DRUPS backup

In the unlikely event of a power disruption (either internal or utility related) during the window:

  • Loads connected to the affected power rail may experience a loss of power
  • Redundancy will be maintained via the unaffected rail

Customers are strongly encouraged to ensure that critical equipment is correctly dual corded and balanced across both power rails.

Operational Management

  • All works will be performed under ASX change management processes
  • ASX will have service engineers onsite for the duration of the maintenance activities
  • ALC access arrangements and other ASX services will continue to operate as normal
