The program aims to increase liquidity and price transparency in the Australian Electricity Options market to facilitate efficient hedging and transfer of risk opportunities.
This voluntary market making scheme is intended to identify firms that may wish to provide two-way pricing for one or more of the following products:
• NSW Base Load Strip Options
• NSW Base Load Quarter Average Rate Options
• VIC Base Load Strip Options
• VIC Base Load Quarter Average Rate Options
• QLD Base Load Strip Options
• QLD Base Load Quarter Average Rate Options
• SA Base Load Strip Options
• SA Base Load Quarter Average Rate Options
Firms may nominate any combination of products and regions for which they wish to provide market making services. Following its assessment of responses, ASX may invite selected firms to participate in further discussions regarding the proposed market making obligations, performance requirements and incentive arrangements. Submission of an expression of interest does not create a binding obligation on ASX or the respondent. Participation is subject to ASX’s acceptance and the parties agreeing to the applicable terms and conditions.
To express your interest, complete and submit the EOI Response Form by 5.00 pm on 23 October 2026 to commodities@asx.com.au.
