Effective immediately for trade date 24 October 2016 ASX has temporarily withdrawn Eastern Australia Canola futures and options contracts from trade (commodity code: VC).

There is no open interest in the Canola contracts.

Following feedback from the market, ASX is seeking regulatory clearance to update the Approved Locations for delivery in the contract specifications to remove Port Adelaide (South Australia) and add Melbourne (Victoria).

ASX will issue a subsequent Market Notice after regulatory clearance with the details of the ASX 24 Operating Rule and Procedure amendments and the date Eastern Australia Canola contracts will be available to trade.

What do I need to do by when?

Participants should ensure that their ASX Grains customers are aware of the suspension and any processes/systems are updated to reflect the change in availability of the Eastern Australia Canola contracts.
