Order cancellations

ASX advises that participants will be unable to cancel groups of orders using the MO4 (Order Deletion) message until further notice.

Cancellation of individual orders, single two-sided quotes and bulk two-sided quotes is supported using the following messages:

  • Individual orders can be cancelled using the MO4 (Order Deletion) message specifying the series, order_number_u, bid_or_ask_c.
  • Single two-sided quotes can be cancelled using the MO37 (Two-Sided Price Quotation) message by setting bid and ask quantity and bid and ask total volume to zero.
  • Bulk two-sided quotes can be cancelled using the M036 (Two-Sided Price Quotation Block) message by setting bid and ask quantities and bid and ask total volumes to zero.

Trading Operations will continue to support cancellation requests on a best endeavours basis.

Market makers that consider the unavailability of cancellation of groups of orders may impact their ability to make prices should contact options@asx.com.au

Tailor Made Combinations (TMC’s)

As per the ASX market notice published yesterday, ASX advises participants that they will be unable to create Tailor-Made Combinations (TMCs) until further notice.

TMCs will not be available for the Thursday 19 November options expiry.

ASX Options participants can still submit quote requests and enter orders in individual series.

Participants still wanting to do TMC transactions that meet the special size threshold can do so as normal via the ASX Trade reporting functionality.

Obligated Market Makers have agreed to be contacted by trading participants, over the phone, to help with price discovery on combination orders during expiry week.

ASX appreciates the support of Market Makers to help the market in rolling expiring option series.
