ASX Trade ITCH Network Device Refresh – Cutover Date and Participation Requirements
ASX wishes to advise ASX Trade ITCH co-location customers of the upcoming ASX Trade ITCH network device refresh. As part of our commitment to delivering reliable and resilient technical services, ASX is undertaking a scheduled asset lifecycle refresh of the ASX Trade ITCH co-location network devices. This essential upgrade is designed to maintain the continued performance, resiliency and security of our trading infrastructure.
Impact on latency
This upgrade will introduce changes to latency behaviour for ITCH multicast. Average latency for ITCH multicast will reduce however the banding of latency between small to large packet sizes will widen. Latency of ITCH multicast distribution across all participant connections is the same, ensuring that market fairness is maintained.
Cutover Weekend Schedule
The cutover weekend is scheduled for Saturday, 13 September 2025. This upgrade will only impact the ASX network components for LCC and RTC physical connectivity to ASX Trade ITCH in ALC. Importantly, there is no requirement for any customer network change, and no expected service impact to any ASX Trade order entry connectivity.
All ASX Trade ITCH customers are required to register and participate in the test period, which will run from 08:30 to 12:45 AEST on Saturday 13 September 2025. A detailed run sheet outlining the planned activities has been provided for all participants below.
Test Information and Conditions
ASX will simulate load in securities AMC, ANZ, BHP, BXB, CBA, CSL, FMG, MQG, NAB, NEM, RIO, RMD, STO, TCL, TLS, WBC, WDS, WES, WOW and XYZ.
Good to Cancel/Good to Date orders in the system on Friday 12 September 2025 will be restored in ASX Trade on Saturday 13 September 2025.
ASX will cancel any existing Undisclosed and Iceberg orders prior to market open.
Participants not joining the test should ensure their production sessions remain disconnected post the ASX Trade system shutdown at 20:30 AEST on Friday 12 September 2025, until the conclusion of testing on Saturday. The system rollback will be completed ready for a normal open on Monday 15 September 2025.
The trading date for transactions performed during the test will be Saturday 13 September 2025.
User configuration changes made during the test, including password changes, will be rolled back at the end of the test and will not be available in production on Monday 15 September 2025.
ASX generated transactions performed on Saturday 13 September 2025 will not be available on ASX Trade on Monday 15 September 2025. Participants and vendors should remove 13 September transactions from their applications on completion of the test.
Registrations should be completed via the attached Appendix 1 - customer registration form and returned to ASX Customer Technical Support (CTS).
Registrations should be returned by close of business by Friday 29 August 2025 to confirm participation in the cutover process and subsequent testing.
