Effective as of: 12/05/25
Last updated: 12/05/25

ASX Trading and Clearing participants are advised that no new option series will be listed on Vanguard MSCI Index International Shares ETF (VGS).

Once all existing option contracts with open interest have expired, VGS will cease being an ETO Class on ASX Trade. ASX made this decision due to the VGS ETO not achieving sufficient scale to be sustainable and is not likely to do so.

Please note that VGS ETF units were only available for specific cover against VGS ETF ETOs (not as general collateral) – once VGS ceases being an ETO VGS units will not be able to be used as collateral on ASX Clear.

What do I need to do by when?

Users should consider speaking with their broker to manage their option exposure on the VGS ETF.
