Welcome to the network replacement project website. Here you will find key project resources including technical specifications, educational material, key milestones and regular project updates.
The project involves the replacement of network infrastructure supporting ASX Trade and ASX 24.
On Saturday November 15th (ALC) and Saturday November 29th (SDC) ASX will be completing upgrades to the infrastructure that provides aggregation for incoming network connections from participants using ASX24 and ASX Trade gateways located at their Sydney sites. This is a hardware upgrade no impact is expected to trading participants and there is no participant testing required.
On Saturday 13 September 2025, ASX successfully completed the replacement of the ASX Trade ITCH switch. Following the implementation, ASX ITCH customers conducted testing without any issues. The market opened smoothly on Monday, marking the successful delivery of this critical infrastructure upgrade.

ASX is replacing the ASX 24 network infrastructure in parallel to replacing the ASX 24 trading platform. Key benefits include future reduction of ASX infrastructure in customer data centres and colocation racks, and improvements to security.
There are 3 phases to replacing the ASX 24 network.
| Phase | Description | Timeline |
| 1. ASX Net Global | Replacing Arista switches used from (i) Sydney and regional customer sites for point-to-point connections (ASX to customer premises); (ii) customer points of presence in Singapore, Chicago and Hong Kong | Q3 2025 - Q4 2025 |
| 2. ASX Net Trading WAN | Replace edge routers customer’s premises used to connect to the trading application, in preparation for server gateway decommission | Q4 2025 - Q1 2027 |
| 3. Co-location | Replace server hardware (cabling and Arista switches) for participants with connections in the Australian Liquidity Centre (ALC). This is planned to be delivered as a greenfields environment, completely segregated from the existing platform connectivity, and will require new physical cross connects for the ASX 24 replacement application | TBC |
